Multi-Purpose Center

Sunrise and the School Board are moving ahead with plans for an approximately 18,000-square-foot multi-purpose community center, to be constructed adjacent to City Park and the new branch library on Sunset Strip. The City awarded a construction contract in September 2006 for the project.

The project's approximately $5.3 million cost will be shared by the City and the School Board. Designed by the firm of Synalovski Gutierrez Romanik Architects, Inc., the center will house a gymnasium and classrooms. In addition, a new, lighted parking lot will be constructed to serve the multi-purpose center and City Park, and the park will receive a new playground. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2007.
