Activating New Service

Water
The customer does not need to be present at the property in order for the City to turn on water service, as long as no water is running at the home. To prevent a problem with the water service connection, make sure all faucets and spigots are turned off, and there are no water leaks at the property. The City cannot leave water on if any water is passing through the meter unless the customer is present at the time of the service visit.

Gas
The City's Gas Department must enter the customer's property in order to turn on natural gas service. You may request a convenient date for the gas service connection while you are opening your account in person, or you may contact the City at (954) 746-3232 to schedule an appointment.
