Good Neighbor Awards

Do you know a resident who makes an exceptional contribution to the community?Honor them with a nomination for the City of Sunrise Good Neighbor Awards. The program is designed to recognize the ongoing efforts of those who make a difference in our community without seeking or receiving recognition for their service. Nominees may be recommended by a family member, friend or neighbor who wishes to recognize someone who has enhanced the neighborhood by doing a good deed or providing a community service.

The Good Neighbor Awards Program is the City's way of thanking the residents who are committed to improving the quality of life in our community.

To submit a nomination, a Good Neighbor Awards Entry Form must be completed along with a description of no more than 300 words describing what the nominee has done that makes them a candidate for the Good Neighbor Award. A copy of the nomination form is available for download here. Eligible nominations for the 2007 calendar year must be submitted to the City no later than December 31, 2007. Finalists will be selected from the pool of nominated candidates. These winners will receive their award at a special ceremony.

Nominees are sought in two divisions - adult and youth - and must meet the following criteria:
  • They must be a resident of the City of Sunrise;
  • They must have made significant contributions to their neighborhoods or to Sunrise in 2007;
  • Their actions must go beyond the scope of citizen responsibilities;
  • They must not be employed by the City of Sunrise.
