Capital Projects Division is responsible for the construction of capital improvement projects for the City of Sunrise, excluding utility-related projects. Capital Projects' responsibilities start at the conception of a project and end when a Certificate of Occupancy is issued by the Building Division, and the user department assumes operation of the facility.
Individual projects are assigned to Project Managers who represent the City at project meetings and serve as on-site representatives. The Project Managers coordinate all aspects of design, bidding, construction and post-construction maintenance with the Architect/Engineer of record. During construction, the Projects Managers administer the construction contract, monitor progress, address construction-related issues, maintain payment records, monitor project budgets, and process all other documents required to close out projects.
