Over the past few years the City of Sunrise Police Department has used federal grants and money seized through forfeitures to purchase the most modern police vehicles and equipment. Our past and present vehicles can be seen below. However, not on display are numerous unmarked vehicles used for covert police operations.

Chevrolet Tahoe K-9 Vehicle
Used to transport Police K-9 work dogs during Uniformed patrol rapid responses to "in-progress" incidents.

These vehicles are assigned to Uniformed Patrol Platoon Lieutenants. This vehicle contains a small mobile command center which acts as the temporary headquarters for an incident that requires the implementation of the Incident Command System until the Mobile Incident Command Center arrives.

Mobile Incident Command Center (MICC)
The MICC responds to larger high profile incidents and contains the following: Dispatch Center, Command & Control Center, Private Interview Room, Special Provision for Hostage Negotiator, Complete telecommunications capabilities including internet, television, & telephone connectivity.

S.W.A.T. Response Van
Used as mobile command center and to transport S.W.A.T. team members to and from operations.

S.W.A.T. Bearcat - Armored Personnel Carrier (APC)
The “Bearcat” provides armored protection while maintaining superior maneuverability. It accommodates the entire SWAT team, and is used during high-risk incidents. Its floor plan was custom made to fit the needs of Sunrise Police.

Mobile Field Force Response Truck
The mobile field force response truck is used to transport equipment, weapons, and personnel to incidents of civil unrest.

Ford F-350 Multi-Purpose Vehicle
The F-350 is used for many assignments throughout the department. Some are listed below:
- Towing Traffic Speed trailers
- Transporting Watch Towers
- Transporting department T3's, Segways, and Kawaski Mules to special events.
