This Broward County highway construction project is designed to extend Hiatus Road from Sunrise Boulevard north to West Oakland Park Boulevard. The County is constructing the roadway extension in two phases:
Phase One includes the completion of side street closures, the relocation of all impacted utilities, and the installation of a privacy/sound wall along the eastern side of the new roadway. Phase One began in October 2015 and will be completed in fall of 2016.
Phase Two is the construction of the new roadway, including the construction of a new bridge over the canal, and the installation of a new traffic signal at NW 29th Manor. Phase Two began in January 2016 and is scheduled to be completed during summer 2017.
