Don't miss the festivities set for Saturday, July 4, in the City of Sunrise!
"Spirit of America" Parade & Family Fun Day
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
City Park, 6700 Sunset Strip
Floats will wind their way west along Sunset Strip from NW 12th Street to City Park, where the fun continues with free food, rides and children's entertainment.
Concert and Fireworks
5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
BB&T Center, One Panther Parkway
This crowd-pleasing outdoor event is presented in partnership with All-American Sponsor Wheelabrator Technologies, with additional support from Chester's Fort Lauderdale Harley-Davidson, Ed Morse Automotive Group, Magic 102.7, 104.3 The Ticket, Metropica, Sun-Sentinel, and Broward Health. There's something for everyone, including children's rides and inflatables, and an assortment of food and beverage vendors.
Chester’s Fort Lauderdale Harley-Davidson has made a generous donation of a signed guitar and other valuable memorabilia, which will be auctioned on the main stage beginning at 5:30 p.m. While they’re keeping the items under wraps for now, prospective bidders can be assured they are in for a treat. Best of all, the auction will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the needs of injured U.S. military service members – and enlisting the public's aid to meet those needs.
The evening's live music lineup starts at 6:00 p.m. and includes two of the most popular bands of 1980s: A Flock of Seagulls (I Ran) and headliner the Fixx (Red Skies, One Thing Leads to Another, Stand or Fall, Saved by Zero). At 9:00 p.m., take in a fantastic fireworks display.
Parking and admission are free! The following may not be brought into the lot: backpacks, coolers, glass containers, alcohol, pets, weapons, fireworks, and any other items deemed inappropriate by site management. Bring a lock to secure your bicycle, as bikes are not permitted in the event area. For more information call the City of Sunrise Leisure Services Department: (954) 747-4600.
