Are You Prepared for Hurricane Season?

The 2008 storm season begins June 1 and ends November 30. During this time, it's essential that Sunrise residents be prepared for severe weather, as well as its after effects.

While it's the goal of local officials and relief workers to offer assistance following a storm, emergency conditions might prevent them from quickly reaching everyone in need. The best way to safeguard your family and property is to have a disaster plan in place. An effective plan provides for the security of your home and the wellbeing of your loved ones.

If you don't already have a plan in place, now is an excellent time to develop one. The City's Hurricane Preparedness information can help you determine what supplies you will need - and what actions you should take - before, during and after a storm.
