Veterans Day Ceremony Planned for November 11

On Wednesday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., Sunrise will host a celebration in honor of all military veterans. The City's Veterans Day Ceremony will take place at Welleby Park (11100 NW 44th Street) and will feature a 21-gun salute, distinguished speakers and the presentation of colors. Light refreshments will be served.

This event also provides community members with an opportunity to support active U.S. military service personnel. After the ceremony, please take a moment to write a note and help prepare a care package for our troops overseas. Donations for these care packages - items such as pre-packaged snack foods, individual packets of Gatorade mix, non-chocolate candy, personal hygiene products and current magazines - are appreciated. Items for care packages will also be collected at the Sunrise Senior Center. For more information, call (954)746-3670.
