Public Works
The Sunrise Public Works Department is instrumental in maintaining and repairing public streets, sidewalks and parking areas. The Department is also responsible for the design, construction, maintenance and landscaping of public rights-of-way, including medians, swales, open space, City properties and some recreation areas.
Perhaps the most significant Public Works responsibility is its role in the maintenance of the system of canals, reservoirs, pumping stations and related drainage apparatus within the City: The efforts of Public Works personnel help protect against flooding.
