Sunrise Tennis Club is on the north side of West Oakland Park Boulevard. It is just east of Nob Hill Road. This venue can be located using our City Facilities map.

Open weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and weekends, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Holiday hours subject to change. Call for details.)

Overview:
Sunrise Tennis Club celebrated its grand opening in February 2001 - earning its place as the premier public tennis facility in South Florida. The Tennis Club offers 10 Hydrocourt clay courts, four asphalt-based cushioned courts, and one Hydrocourt tournament court - as well as lighting, sheltered spectator areas and restrooms. The facility also features a clubhouse with a pro shop, players' lounge and locker rooms.

Sunrise Tennis Club has won numerous accolades, including the United States Tennis Association's (USTA) 2001 "Outstanding Facility" award, and Tennis Industry magazine's 2001 "Court of the Year" award. In 1999, while being built, the Tennis Club was recognized by both the USTA and the United States Tennis Court and Track Builders Association as an example of excellence in the design and construction of a tennis facility.

Each March, Sunrise Tennis Club hosts the BMW Tennis Championship, a prestigious tournament that gives South Floridians a rare opportunity to see some of the top men's professional tennis players in action.

The BMW Tennis Championship is one of only three major tennis tournaments in the state of Florida. It's also the only event in Broward County that's sanctioned by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) - the organizer of the principal worldwide men's tennis tour.

Sunrise Tennis Club is also home to the Saviano High Performance Tennis Academy, which works with players between the ages of 8 and 20 to offer personalized world-class coaching and lessons from Nick Saviano, internationally recognized as one of the top developmental coaches and coaching educators in the sport of tennis.

Over the past 20 years, Saviano has helped to develop both male and female players, including Grand Slam winners in both singles and doubles. He formerly served as United States Tennis Association (USTA) Director of Coaching for Men's Tennis, Director of
Coaching Education & Sport Science and National Coach.

Saviano is a Master Professional with both the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA); and was named USPTA Touring Coach of the Year in 1993. Saviano is also the author of "Maximum Tennis: 10 Keys to Unleashing Your On Court Potential."
