Overview: Sunrise Golf Village Park was constructed on the site of the City's first police station and City Hall. "Sunrise Golf Village" was the City's original name when it was incorporated. The creation of Sunrise Golf Village Park is an appropriate acknowledgement of the site's historical importance to the community. The park incorporates appealing landscape enhancements with a curving privacy wall that separates the property into two components. The first portion, which faces Sunset Strip, complements and softens the surrounding commercial properties and provides the public with an attractive greenspace featuring royal palms and oak trees. The park also features a semi-circular plaza with a sundial and benches, along with a new sidewalk and a bus stop. The rear portion of the property, which faces NW 62nd Avenue, buffers residents from traffic along Sunset Strip. This portion of the project features a green lawn with clusters of oak trees and royal poincianas.
