Broward County's Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division began Phase II of the Oakland Park Bridge and Roadway Improvements project in the City of Sunrise on February 24, 2022. The work -- along West Oakland Park Boulevard from Hiatus Road to NW 120th Way (see map below) -- is expected to conclude on or before April 2022, barring any unforeseen conditions and/or weather delays.

The purpose of this phase of the project is to replace the curb and resurface the pavement. During construction, at least one lane in each direction of West Oakland Park Boulevard will be closed to traffic between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with at least one lane remaining open in both directions. Overnight pavement resurfacing will occur between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., with one lane remaining open in both directions. Access to businesses and sidewalks will be maintained, and variable message signs will be posted to warn affected motorists and pedestrians.
