Visitors to Welleby Park can now enjoy additional shaded areas, and more canopy shade is coming soon to Veterans Park  for the benefit of our residents and park visitors!

The train playground at Welleby Park, located at 11100 NW 44th Street, closed temporarily beginning on April 14 to allow for the installation of additional shade structures. It has now re-opened, and additional shade has also been added to benches inside Safety Town as well as the Pawgrass at Welleby dog park.

While these improvement were completed, access was preserved to the other nearby amenities, such as the splash pad, Safety Town, pavilions, and the other playground structures to the southeast of the train playground area.

Veterans Park, located at 5400 North Nob Hill Road, temporarily closed on April 28th to allow for tree removal and temporary fence installation starting on Monday, April 28, and continuing through Thursday, May 1.

On Friday, May 2, the park reopened, but the playground will remain closed (surrounded by a temporary fence) to allow for the construction of the shade structures. While the second phase of the project is completed, access will be preserved to the other nearby amenities, such as the Veterans Memorial, restroom facility, and meditation labyrinth.
