During the evening and early morning hours between Sunday, October 26th, and Wednesday, December 31st, Broward County's Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) will temporarily close lanes in a section of North Pine Island Road between Sunset Strip and West Sunrise Boulevard (shown in the image to the right). Vehicle detours and diversions will be necessary during these periods, but nearby driveways and sidewalks will remain accessible and at least one lane in each direction will always remain open. Please observe related road signage for motorists and allow additional travel time to seek alternate routes if necessary.

The nightly lane closures from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. are necessary for roadway resurfacing as part of the ongoing bridge rehabilitation project that began in May 2025. The project is funded by the state gas tax and is expected to conclude in December 2025 barring any unforeseen conditions or weather delays.
