Starting in January, speed enforcement cameras will be installed in Sunrise school zones to help our community. This will enable automated traffic enforcement to improve student and community safety as well as reduce speeding near our schools.

What Drivers Should Know

• Drivers are expected to observe the school zone speed limit, which is 15 mph when flashing or the posted speed limit during all other times.
• Active times for speed enforcement cameras will be during all school days starting 30 minutes before school begins and lasting until 30 minutes after the end of the school day. Times vary by school.
• Violations will be $100 per speeding incident. There will be a 30-day warning period after cameras are installed.
