Community Development Launches e-Plan Review

City of Sunrise Community Development e-Plan Review - Our online Self-Service Portal, sunrisefl.gov/openforbusiness, offers a convenient 24/7 interface to better serve residents, business owners, developers and contractors!e-Plan Review Now Available! 

The City of Sunrise recently launched its e-Plan Review service--an enhancement to the Community Development Department's 24/7, online Self-Service Portal: www.sunrisefl.gov/openforbusiness.

This system enhancement better serves residents, business owners, developers and contractors by enabling the paperless submittal of additional permit applications and plans--anytime, from anywhere--as well as the receipt of electronic notifications. Customers can now submit the following documentation online:

  • Building Permit Applications
  • Engineering Permit Applications
  • Engineering Plans
  • Zoning Permit Applications
  • Development Applications & Plans

Register for a Virtual Demonstration

To learn about the functionality of the new e-Plan Review system, sign up for a Virtual Demonstration Session. Online sessions will be held at 9:00 am on the following dates:

  • April 10, 2024
  • May 8, 2024
  • June 13, 2024

Pre-registration is required.  Complete our online registration form by noon the day before your preferred session; we'll contact you to confirm, and to share the session access information. Please email askereview@sunrisefl.gov with any questions.

Original Self-Service Portal Functionality

Prior to the launch of e-Plan Review, the Community Development portal facilitated the paperless submission and review of many common permit applications, including:

  • All Engineering Permits including Landscaping Permits
  • Planning & Zoning Permits such as Painting, Outdoor Restaurant Seating, and Special Events
  • Structural Permits for Residential Re-Roofs, Residential Windows, Residential Doors, Residential Shutters, Residential Garage Doors, and Residential Fences
  • Residential Electrical Service Changes
  • Residential Plumbing for Water Heaters
  • Residential Mechanical for AC Change-outs
  • Commercial Plumbing Permit for Backflow Install/Re-certification
  • Engineering Utility Verification Requests
