Are you a Sunrise resident who wants access to in-demand warehouse and logistics careers? No prior experience is required!

Registration is open through August 31, 2026 for the new Supply Chain Management Program, which will be offered for FREE to qualifying Sunrise residents in partnership with Broward College.  The course sessions will be:

• Held from September 16 through November 18
• Recur on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm
• Located at Village Civic Center (6800 Sunset Strip)

Two virtual information sessions are available for those interested in learning more on Tuesday, August 11, at either 2 pm or 6 pm.

Graduates will earn:

1. A nationally recognized certification
2. Six months of career assistance
3. Job-readiness for entry level roles such as Inventory Clerks (est. $32k- $42k annually) or Logistics Specialists (est. $42k - $60k annually) with a path to six-figure management positions

As part of the BCEx initiative, the BCEx Small Business Bootcamp is offered for FREE exclusively for Sunrise residents who would like entrepreneurship guidance for launching or growing a small business.

Participants learn how to:

1. Interview real potential customers
2. Identify key customer pains & gains
3. Discover your product-market fit
4. Design an introductory business model

5. Prepare to pitch for the BCEx Accelerator

The BCEx Small Business Bootcamp typically requires a registration fee, but is offered FREE of charge to those who are selected to join the BCEx Bootcamp at City of Sunrise. Participants are expected to attend all sessions and commit at least 2 hours per week to in-class learning. Please note that the classes are for registered participants only, as the classroom format provided by Broward College can not accommodate guests or children.

As part of the BCEx initiative, the BCEx Financial Wellness Program is offered for FREE exclusively for Sunrise residents who would like to enhance their financial literacy and empower the community with lifelong money management skills.

The first cohort was held on Tuesday evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm between June 17 and July 22 at Village Civic Center (6800 Sunset Strip). Stay tuned for announcements about future cohorts! Open to Sunrise residents aged 17 and older with registration on a first-come, first-served basis, the program aims to deliver fun, practical, and empowering lessons to help individuals and families take control of their financial futures. 

Participants learn:

1. Budgeting Like a Pro: Understand needs vs. wants, manage monthly bills, and create realistic spending plans
2. Smart Saving Strategies: Set savings goals, develop action plans, and track financial progress
3. Demystifying Debt: Learn the difference between good and bad debt — and how to pay it down effectively
4. Hands-On Financial Activities: Enjoy engaging sessions like “Budget Day,” “Savings Day,” and “Debt Day” to apply real-world money skills

As part of the BCEx initiative, the BCEx Ideation Program is offered for FREE in Sunrise to help participants develop an entrepreneurial mindset and refine their business ideas. Graduates of the City’s Sunrise Small Business Academy (SSBA) are great candidates for this program.

This program serves as the foundation for those interested in joining the Small Business Bootcamp and BCEx Accelerator programs. Participants will learn:

1. Entrepreneurial Mindset – Explore the Eight Life Lessons that drive entrepreneurial success.
2. Idea Exploration – Use the “My Why” framework to identify challenges and transform them into business opportunities.
3. Experimentation & Customer Discovery – Engage potential customers with the “Talk to Humans” approach, validate your idea, and explore market opportunities using the Business Model Canvas.
