|NW 136th Avenue Lane Closures Near State Road 84 and the I-595 Interchange
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has begun an intersection improvements project on NW 136th Avenue and State Road 84 (pictured in the map to the right extending from the I-595 Interchange north and including the bridge running over the North New River Canal) that will result in road construction through Fall 2020.
Beginning the week of July 8th and continuing through Spring 2020, FDOT will close the Southbound bridge and re-route Southbound traffic into the two rightmost lanes on the current Northbound bridge. During this period, traffic will remain reduced to 2 lanes in each direction. While full road closures will be minimized, there may be single lane closures during non-peak hours (Sunday through Thursday between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.)
The construction will result in widened bridges with an additional lane on each side, designated bike lanes, new LED road lighting, and a designated right-turn lane from westbound SR 84 to northbound NW 136th Avenue. For extended details of each phase of the project, please see the summary below.
