Housing Assistance Programs
Owner-Occupied Residential Rehabilitation Program
The Owner-Occupied Residential Rehabilitation Program will reopen at 9 AM on March 4, 2026.
Interested parties are invited to apply via Neighborly, the City’s electronic application portal, beginning 9:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 through 5:00 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2026 or upon receipt of the first one hundred (100) applications, whichever comes first.
Assistance with application submission will be provided on an appointment basis only. Appointments are limited and can be scheduled by contacting the Grants Division at (954) 572-2315 or via e-mail at housing@sunrisefl.gov. Applications received prior to 9:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 will not be considered. Prior application versions will not be considered.

The Owner-Occupied Residential Rehabilitation program is designed to help low- to moderate-income homeowners maintain the sustainability and affordability of their residences. The program is funded through entitlement grants from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP). Per state and federal regulations, applicant households:
- Must be current on all mortgages and Homeowners Association Fees, as applicable
- Must be current on all property taxes
- Must have homeowner’s insurance and flood insurance, as applicable
- Must be located within the municipal boundaries of the City of Sunrise
Assistance is in the form of a deferred payment second mortgage at 0% interest, 5-, 10-, or 15-year term, based upon amount of funding awarded. Funds are available on a first-come, first qualified, first served basis. Homeowner's gross annual household income must be certified prior to construction. Purchase Assistance Program
This program is administered and implemented by the Broward County Housing Finance Division on behalf of the City of Sunrise. The City's HOME Investments Partnership Program funds the Purchase Assistance program on an annual basis. This program is designed to help low- to moderate-income households purchase a home within the municipal boundaries of the City of Sunrise.
Assistance is in the form of a deferred payment second mortgage at 0% interest, 15-year term. Funds are available on a first-come, first qualified, first served basis. Homebuyer's gross annual household income must be certified by Broward County. Please review below Income Chart for the current maximum income limit, adjusted for household size.
