Participate in Sunrise Stay and Play Activities
The City of Sunrise Leisure Services Department is excited to share daily suggestions for "stay and play" fun that can be done virtually from home. Check sunrisefl.gov/stayandplay for new arts, crafts, contests, or activities or stay tuned to facebook.com/cityofsunrise to share photos of your creativity on our Stay and Play posts!
Get a Broward County Library E-Card
Broward County Public Libraries, including Dan Pearl Library in Sunrise, offer an extensive list of free educational resources. In addition to books and audiovisual resources that can be checked out directly from libraries with a traditional library card, the library system offers e-cards which can be applied for online and give you access to free digital resources accessible by residents anywhere with an internet connection.
- First, fill out the Broward County Library E-Card application.
- Take a look at books available now in the Broward County Libraries ebook catalog.
- Use the E-Card on the Axis 360 and Hoopla platforms to access additional content:

- Broward County Public Schools' Learning Never Closes program
- Nova Southeastern University's Alvin Sherman Library Learn at Home pathfinder
- Beginning March 24, 2020, the Sunrise Center for Excellence in Chess began offering a limited number of free 90-day memberships to an online chess education program that uses puzzles and skills training to improve student chess abilities. Please email programdirector@sunrisechesscenter.org for details.

- Scholastic Learn at Home- A resource during school closures.
- Sora- A reading app with 170 curated school titles from Abrams, Rosen, Lerner, Britannica and others for K-12 readers via ebook and audiobook. No contract is required and the Sora app and all simultaneous use titles are free.
- Pebble Go- Log in for free during school closure periods using username: engaged and password: learning.
- Fair From Home- Digital experiences, activities, and recipes that kids can enjoy from home courtesy of the 2020 Miami-Dade County Youth Fair.
- WLRN At-Home Learning- featuring age-appropriate programming blocks for students Pre-K through Grade 12 that are aligned to state education standards, these programs are free and accessible on WLRN-TV, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM.

- Storytime from Space!- The Global Space Education Project sent children’s books to the International Space Station to be read by astronauts.
- Emily Arrow Live- Broadcast from YouTube every day at 1:00 p.m.
