2026 Household Hazardous Waste Events
The City of Sunrise and the City of Plantation have partnered to provide residents with opportunities to safely dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronics. Drop-off events are held on select Saturdays throughout the year, and are open exclusively to residents of Sunrise and Plantation free of charge and with proof of residency. Dates and locations for 2026 are:

This site WILL NOT accept explosives, biohazardous waste or business-generated waste. For more information about bulk and HHW disposal, please call (954) 577-1135.
Medication/Prescription Drug Collection Program
Medicines should be disposed of properly like other household hazardous waste. Bring all unused prescriptions and over-the-counter medications (including vitamins) to the Sunrise Public Safety Building (10440 West Oakland Park Boulevard) for safe and anonymous disposal in the drop box in the first floor lobby.
