The City of Sunrise recognizes the sacrifice, bravery, and risk of all those who have served, and those who continue to serve our Country. We are always very grateful for our soldiers, both past and present for fighting for our freedom and keeping us safe. To show our appreciation the City of Sunrise and the Veteran’s Advisory Board would like to recognize our Veteran’s by creating the Veterans Park Memorial Brick Program. Purchase a Memorial Brick online or access a printable Memorial Brick order form.

PROGRAM SUMMARY

The City of Sunrise Veterans Park Memorial Brick Program is intended to honor military Veterans, living or not living, by having a memorial brick engraved with a personalized message and installed at Veterans Park.

This program not only provides an affordable and lasting method to commemorate a special military Veteran, but additional proceeds will be used to assist Sunrise families in need through the Leisure Services Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF).

PROGRAM GUIDELINES

Bricks will be engraved on a quarterly basis (January, April, July, October) or in lots of no less than 10 at a time. Any person, organization, business or entity are welcome to purchase a brick to honor a military Veteran, living or not living. The Veteran being honored on the brick does not have to be a Sunrise resident.

Two brick sizes are available:

• For $50 plus sales tax, customize one 8" x 4" brick with up to 4 lines of engraving and up to 18 characters per line (including punctuation and spaces). One military insignia may be added from the list below, which reduces the space to 3 lines of engraving and a maximum of 15 characters.
• For $100 plus sales tax, customize one 8" x 8" brick with up to 6 lines of engraving and up to 18 characters per line (including punctuation and spaces). One military insignia may be added from the list below, which reduces the space to 4 lines of engraving and a maximum of 18 characters on each line.

Engraving for either sized brick is limited to the following:

• In Memory Of
• Honoring
• Rank of the Veteran
• Name of the Veteran
• Initials of the Veteran
• Name of the Military Branch
• Dates of Service
• Other date being honored
• Hero

No commercial advertisements will be accepted and the City reserves the right to reject objectionable requests.

PROGRAM PROCESS

The Leisure Services Department, will be responsible for the Veterans Park Memorial Brick Program.  The complete program process is outlined below. 

1. Any person, organization, business or entity is welcome to purchase a brick to honor a military Veteran, living or not living, as part of the Veterans Park Memorial Brick Program.
2. Those wishing to participate in this program may:
   Purchase a Memorial Brick online; or
   Print and complete the form to be mailed or hand-delivered (along with a check for payment including sales tax) to:

3. Payments should be made by check if mailing in the application, or in person by cash, check or credit card.
4. A typeset example of your message will be available for your approval prior to engraving.
5. Brick orders will be sent to the engraver every quarter or in lots of no less than 10 at a time. There will be a short period before your brick will be installed in the park.
