Imagine Sunrise 2041: Lighting Our Path Together
The City of Sunrise has completed a comprehensive Strategic Planning Process. As part of this process, residents and business owners shaped the future of our great City by participating in surveys, community meetings, and a town hall visioning session. The Strategic Planning Process has allowed us to evaluate our current path and plan for the future of the City, utilizing feedback received from each of you! We have integrated your input regarding the current state of the City, priorities for the future, key focus areas, and the vision for the future of Sunrise.
Our comprehensive Strategic Planning Process is called Imagine Sunrise 2041: “Lighting Our Path Together”. Perspective gathered during this process forms the basis of a new Strategic Plan document that guides Sunrise’s priorities as we head towards a significant milestone in our history: our City’s 80th anniversary in 2041.

Founded in 1961, Sunrise has thrived and progressed over the past decades thanks to the unwavering support and engagement of our residents, the vision and strong leadership of our elected officials, the service of our employees, the strength of our business community, and the robust interest of visitors and tourism. As we begin a new era in our City’s history, we firmly believe that your vital insights were crucial in helping us shape the strategic direction for the next 15 years and beyond.
Imagine Sunrise 2041 was an invitation to dream, share your hopes and aspirations, and to actively participate in crafting the future you envision for our beloved City. We recognize that a strong and vibrant community can only be built through collaboration, communication, and collective action. Your feedback and viewpoints are the cornerstone upon which we have developed a Strategic Plan that will guide us through the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
During the process we provided the community with opportunities to engage with us, including participating in surveys and attending community forum meetings where the vision for this plan came to life. Your voice is our compass, helping the City to make informed decisions that will impact Sunrise’s growth, development, and well-being for generations to come. We look forward to continuing to share the progress of this plan with you.
